Perhaps observing the operation of mechanical systems can help make confusing human relationships less complicated.
Martin is a surrealist artist who writes in the genre of biomechanical painting. In the fantastic plots of the paintings, zoomorphic and anthropomorphic creatures with mechanical body parts are read. They combine metal and flesh.
In his works, Martin Schildkamp translates personal ideas through mechanistic images, in which the ordered precision of machines and the chaos of human feelings are surprisingly intertwined. Through the juxtaposition and fusion of organics and mechanics, living and inanimate, through the intervention of mechanisms into human flesh, the cyborgization of people and the humanization of machines, the main challenges of the time are articulated.
More than 30 personal and group exhibitions of Martin Schildkamp have been successfully held in different countries of the world over the past 15 years.
